Puerto Rican Masterclass: Pasteles de Guineo con Cerdo

About

Welcome to our Masterclass Series, where you will learn how to prepare a popular Puerto Rican holiday dish called Pasteles de Guineo con Cerdo, which roughly translates to Pork-filled green banana patties. While there are variations in the recipes for this culinary delight, we are sharing a recipe by our dear member, Doña Minerva Ruiz Sotomayor, who learned this recipe from her mother and grandmother in Puerto Rico. In this series, we discuss the history of making pasteles in Puerto Rico, its tradition during the holidays, plus a step-by-step demonstration of how to prepare this unique Puerto Rican dish right in your own home. This masterclass is only made available through your registration and donation to our scholarship fund and your identified interest in participating in the class. Please do not share the contents of this masterclass but rather invite and encourage your friends and family to join and support our fundraising efforts while having fun learning about this important custom. All proceeds will go towards educational scholarships for Latina women and other community opportunities.
